Today I listened to a blog radiocast. It was fascinating! Who knew?
The show was about single women. Some of the callers were men that called in to ask questions about women which was great! Others were women wanting answers to a lot of questions.
The panel consisted of very wise women. One was Lisa Nichols Bell who authored this book:
Another panel member was Mandy Hale from @TheSingleWoman on Twitter. She is a journalist who is wise beyond compare.
What struck me was that they mentioned that a man is never going to treat us better than we treat ourselves. The search for our "match" begins with us. We have to really look at us. How do we take care of ourselves? Do we eat right? Do we exercise? Do we take care of our finances well? Do you take care of your home? What kind of family member and friend are you? The gist is that our partners mirror us so if we want someone fit, loving, active, friendly, professional, etc. - we have to be those things.
I know for me in the past few months I haven't been taking care of myself at all. It seems the focus has been on my children and that is a good thing to a point but I have to be good for them too. I don't want to become self absorbed while doing this but I need to be working out consistently again, eating better, watching the dollars better and more. In all reality I wanted to jump on my treadmill the minute the panel brought this point to light. :)
Anyway, good wisdom was handed out on a free blog radiocast! It was a great way to invest a little bit of time.
