The Zune 120 gb
I was probably the last person on earth to purchase an mp3 player but I put it off on purpose. The thing is, I LOVE music. It is a soulmate. I have so much of it that I didn't want some little 30 gb drive and have to pick and choose what to have on it. I wanted all of my music in one spot to access when and where I wanted. So, the Zune 120 gb covered this. I LOVE my Zune!
Off I go, the happy camper with her Zune. I take it everywhere, the car, camping, running, just everywhere. The other day I was in the tub having a nice soak when I was listening and for some stupid reason I decided to put a hair tie in to pull my hair up and set the Zune on the side of the tub. I'm sure you never guessed that it fell into the tub and was completely submerged for maybe two seconds. I pulled it out and dried it out and even used the blow dryer on it in the charging end and the ear phone jack. Nothing, no power, lifeless. I was devastated.
My Zune has emotionally value to me. I know, I'm mental but I was frantic. I immediately search the web for a solution and many people even some on the Zune forum had put theirs in a bag or tupperware container full of rice and just left it for at least 24 hours. So I did just that. It took about 48 but today I plugged it in hoping that maybe the battery just died and I got an error message. I looked it up on the Microsoft Zune webpage and followed the instructions there. So far, it is working like a charm. I had to reset it, then I had to get rid of everything on it and start fresh. Fine by me, luckily it was all backed up and conveniently in one spot as I had just revamped my stuff. Anyway, it is syncing now and is at 6% finished and I am just praying that it works.
If not, I bid on one on eBay that I found for a lower price than stores have it. They don't make this one anymore so it isn't easy to find. If I end up winning it (which my son is hoping for) I will have two. :) I'm hoping for financial reasons that I lose the bidding process but for my son I kind of hope it works out.
Anyway, I wish I had known the rice trick when my kids got their Motorola phone wet at the pool. It wasn't even submerged so it probably could have been saved! If I had only known! What a great trick!
