Television Going Online

Here's the story. I am getting that strong vibe that television networks are trying to make it so that they are 100% online. They are all putting up there own little web shows that are available online only. Here's the catch.

Most of American society, I am sure, thinks that they have unlimited internet access. But, this is generally not the case. "Unlimited" is a great buzz word when it comes to internet, web space and more. Very few cases prove to be "unlimited" no matter what you are talking about. I found this because my mother and I shared a house for a while. We noticed that the connection got really slow one day and we called the provider to find out what was going on. Come to find out we were on a so called "unlimited" plan but when we called we found out that there was a lot of fine print that limited our access and once we reached a certain amount of file transfer our speed dropped nearly to non existent. It was so sad. We were two single ladies that didn't even really do a whole lot and we ran through the bandwidth limitations month after month in a hurry.

One of the major contributors to sucking up the bandwidth is watching on demand television and movies. Downloading and uploading are other factors. So, dear major networks please be careful before you lose all of your viewers and therefore your advertisers too. You can't alienate that big of a population without a huge hit in cash flow. Good luck with that. For now, I'm afraid you are all stuck with conventional television.
